I had a realization as our Sunday night was coming to a close, "I love Mondays!" It was such an abnormal thought, that I had to immediately run into the living room and tell David.
I couldn't wait to go to bed and wake up to the beginning of a whole new week. Was it because the weekend sucked and I needed a restart? Not even close! We had a perfect weekend exploring Big Sur with friends, sipping coffees at Scout, eating out at one of the 10 sandwich shops in SLO, and ending it all with a friendly game of disc golf at Laguna Lake (which happens to actually contain water again). It was an amazing weekend, so you'd think I'd never want it to end. But when I realized it would and that Monday was bound to begin, I found myself feeling strangely giddy.
The kitchen hadn't been properly cleaned all weekend, laundry was way over due, a new batch of kombucha was ready for brewin, and there was a wall hanging just waiting to get snipped off the loom.
Let's state the obvious. I'm a homemaker. It's what I spend my days doing. And I love it through and through.
I love the cleaning, the making, the creating, the taking care of, and keeping up. Everything in and around the home, I love.
I'm living out my passions, and for the most part, that looks like taking care of a husband and building a home (metaphorically speaking). And, honestly, I'm so content in this life. A life where I have the space to be who I'm meant to be, dream big, and actually live out those dreams.
Learning to weave and writing a blog have been two lovely outcomes of this life tempo. And it's a joy to look forward to the "work week".
Happy Monday!
