With a six month lease under our belt and the unknown of where God will take us next, we promised ourselves to make the most of where we are now.
There is SO much we want to do while we're here in Oregon. The only way to make a dent in the never-ending list of must see's is to pack up our car and go every chance we get. Our evenings and weekends have been incredibly busy. Most of my work week is spent cleaning up from the last exploration just to make a new mess a day or two later as we set out again. I'm sure you'll trust me when I say, I'm so okay with this rhythm.
We're going strong with 6 weeks of adventure:
- Haystack Rock and Astoria
- Lake Billy Chinook and Bend
- Truax Farm Wedding Shenanigans in Beavercreek
- Detroit Lake
- Roadtrip to CA with a pit-stop at Lewiston Lake
- Olympic Peninsula, WA
Our number one priority has been to enjoy this beautiful Oregon summer weather – we know it won't last long. But don't you worry, we plan on gearing up for the months of wet, winter camping ahead of us!
During Week Four we discovered FREE camping, after hearing many rumors. Camping is the cheap way to travel, but even $20 a night can be rough on the bank account. We were so stoked to find out that there is plenty of free sites available all over Oregon.
Yes, free camping means a lack of bathrooms, tables, and water spigots, but it's totally worth it when you have a trail down to your own private beach and nobody around to tell you to be quiet when you want to stay up late and sing by the fireside.
We found free hot springs nearby as well. Basically it was an epic weekend, and all we had to pay for was the gas to get there.
Hopefully, that answers the question of why my Instagram feed has been overloaded with all kinds of adventure.
Happy Oregon Exploring!
