Why do I like German hikes, you're probably asking. There's an easy answer to that – Bier Gartens at the top! This probably isn't true of most hikes here, but it has been true of our experiences, and we don't mind it one bit. This hilltop restaurant, in particular, we most enjoyed! I of course loved the cabin feel, with stacks of logs everywhere and lovely floral decorations strewn about. The view was great and we were able to drink a cold beer before...plummeting the hill in a Go Kart Trike! That's right. Real German experience right there! (Actually, every German we have told has never heard of such a thing.) For only 8 euros you were given a trike and a helmet and off you went! We were expecting it to be a fun way to get down the mountain, but nothing too exhilarating. Boy were we wrong! The course consisted of jumps, bumps, and steep drops. My nerves said "slow down, slow down, slow down" but the dare-devil within me said "hands off the breaks"! It was great fun and we were sneezing up dirt for the rest of the day.
Thank you Swabia for a wonderful time! And thank you Heidi for capturing pictures of us as we rallied down the hill!
Happy Hiking!
