During our stay in Germany we will be taking weekend trips to other places since (almost) everything in Europe is incredibly accessible. For example, our hotel in Switzerland – with an incredible view of the Alps – was just a 4 hour drive from Stuttgart. It's so crazy to think that is the same distance from SLO to LA, and we were crossing borders. And this is where we spent our first weekend in Europe.
Now about them Swiss prices, I'll just start by saying we spent $25 at McDonalds for a dinner for two - cue jaw drop. It was even more shocking coming from our current home where you can get 50 cent beers and five dollar lunches. Even so, the cost of traveling into Switzerland (including a rental car with a special sticker to cross the border, gas, lodging, and meals) it was all worth it. And I can confidently tell you that you wouldn't regret it either. Switzerland is magnificent. ABSOLUTELY, astonishingly, beautiful. The Alps, the lakes, the gardens, the well-maintained neighborhoods, the architecture, it all adds up to make a gorgeous country.
I have many pictures from this short trip so I thought I'd split them up. Stay tuned for 3 Swiss posts: WaldHotel Interlaken, Journey to Gimmewald, Swiss Water and Bern City
Here's a sneak peak!
Happy Venturing!
Prost!
